- Destination: Rigi Kaltbad
The hiking paradise Seebodenalp lies on a large, prominent terrace at 1020 m above sea level above Küssnacht am Rigi. You walk leisurely on the first section practically flat through the tree avenue. On your route, you pass the Alp Ruodisegg before tackling the rather steeper ascent towards Alp Räb. From the alpine inn onwards, the path gets even steeper, but the view at Rigi Känzeli is worth every effort. The hike is also doable in the opposite direction.
Notes
The current operating status of the railways and hiking trails can be found here.
So that future generations can also enjoy the Queen of the Mountains, please dispose of your waste at the stations or take it home with you. Thank you.

Directions & Parking facilities
Paid parking is available at the valley station of the Küssnacht-Seebodenalp cable car.
However, we recommend public transport instead of a car: sit back, enjoy and do something good for the environment at the same time.
Take public transport to the valley station of the Küssnacht-Seebodenalp cable car. During high guest frequency, the cable car runs continuously.
The hiking ticket for this hike includes the following train rides:
- from Küssnacht am Rigi to Seebodenalp by cable car
- from Rigi Kaltbad to Weggis / Vitznau by cogwheel railway or cable car
You can find the timetables of the Rigi railways here.

At the Känzeli viewpoint, I pause briefly to enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Lucerne lake basin and the Alps.
