The "Gloria-Trail Lutersee" nature trail leads from Gütsch to the plateau below the Schneehühnerstock (or in the opposite direction) and features a variety of interactive elements focused on the environment and Alpine animals. Fun for all ages!

Gloria is a young and lively chamois. She lives with her family and friends in the Urschner Mountains. On the hiking trail from Gütsch to Platte, you’ll learn and experience many exciting things about Gloria’s life and the local nature. What do chamois eat? Can you identify different Alpine animals by their sounds? How does rain form?

The adventure trail includes eight stations spread along the hiking trail from Gütsch to Platte. There’s plenty to discover for kids of all ages—a large wooden memory game featuring native plants and herbs, a telescope for viewing the glaciers, a giant swing, and a musical instrument are just a few of the elements that make up the adventure trail. The trail is wide and well-maintained, making it ideal for children. Along the way, we recommend stopping at Lutersee for a breather and to cool off in the refreshing mountain water. Throughout the entire hike, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain scenery.

Directions

The trail starts at Gütsch and heads east. The wide gravel path is also very well suited for children’s feet. At regular intervals, there are a total of eight stations offering plenty to discover. The mountain lake “Lutersee,” located about halfway along the trail, is a great spot for a picnic or to dip your feet in the water. The adventure trail then ends at the “Platte” (middle station of the Schneehüenerstock Express). The trail can be walked in either direction.

Directions & Parking facilities

Getting there

In the summer, Andermatt is easily accessible from all four directions, making it a pleasant starting point.

Parking

There are several parking options:

  • In Andermatt, right behind the train station.
  • In Nätschen, right next to the train station.
  • On the Oberalp Pass, right at the summit.
Public transportation

We recommend traveling by train to Andermatt, Nätschen, or as far as the Oberalp Pass. From Andermatt (valley station) and Nätschen (midway station), the "Gütsch-Express" gondola takes you to the Gütsch mountain station, where the adventure trail begins. Alternatively, take the train to the Oberalp Pass and then take the “Schneehüenerstock-Express” gondola to the “Platte” midstation. The round-trip ticket from the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis mountain railways includes both gondola rides as well as the train from Andermatt to the Oberalp Pass.

Additional information

Due to its higher elevation, the trail is accessible from early July through approximately late October. The Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis Mountain Railways round-trip ticket is ideal for this excursion.
