Great Mythen Rotenflue – Great Mythen – Rotenflue

The Big Mythen towers majestically over the town of Schwyz. The Rotenflue cable car takes you from Rickenbach/Schwyz to the starting point: the Rotenflue. The stretch up to Holzegg at the foot of the Big Mythen is a leisurely warm-up. This is the start of the Mythen mountain trail. Therefore the place is ideal for a last rest (fireplace, restaurant Holzegg). The ascent to the Big Mythen is relatively steep and should be tackled with good footwear. Caution is advised in wet weather. The slippery stones can be very dangerous. The ascent opens up a wonderful panoramic view. Once you reach the summit, all your efforts are forgotten. A breathtaking panoramic view of the mountain peaks of the Alps, the valley basin of Schwyz, the lakes of Central Switzerland and the vastness of the Mittelland will leave you amazed. Between April and November, the summit restaurant is open daily in good weather (when the Swiss flag is raised).
