The landscape becomes somewhat flatter but no less impressive. You follow Lake Zug and its mighty reed belt to Cham in the equally mighty villa belt. Then comes pure countryside in the cherry canton before the Reuss reveals a small part of Aargau. Gradually you gain height and views again, so you can ride for further stretches on a terrace location to the medieval small town of Sempach. Here the lake or a lunch on one of the beautiful terraces of the old town is tempting. After Sempach, the Heart Route climbs the Ruswil hill and offers magnificent views of the lake and Alps. Small chapels and little lakes line the way. Only the quaint little town of Willisau reminds you that you are actually thirsty and hungry and your backside hurts a bit.
