With the help of the JST Multidrive donated by the Cerebral Foundation, this has been possible for wheelchair users on the Rigi since spring 2021. Thanks to a highly powerful electric motor, not only bumpy hiking trails but also steep slopes can be easily mastered.
After arriving at Rigi Kaltbad (arrival via the aerial cableway over Weggis is recommended), the JST Mountaindrive can be obtained at the DLZ Kaltbad after prior reservation and a brief instruction by the staff of the Tourist Info.
The wheelchair may only be used on predefined routes. Map material with tour information is handed out on site or can be downloaded here in advance.
Notes
The current operating status of the railways and hiking trails can be found here.
So that future generations can enjoy the Queen of the Mountains, please dispose of your waste at the stations of the Rigi Railways. Thank you.

Safety guidelines
The range of the wheelchair depends heavily on various factors. These include, among others, the daytime temperature, the altitude difference, but also the driving style and the weight of the rider. We have designed the routes so that the battery life will safely bring you back to the starting point.
