Informative, interactive and inspiring
During a visit to Erlebnis Energie Entlebuch, visitors of all ages can learn exciting facts about renewable energies from water, wood, wind and sun - and embark on a journey through time to the historical energy sources of natural gas and peat.
- River & water: hydropower, Farb/Entlen platform
- Forest & wood: wood energy, Chilewald platform
- Fire & Gas: oil/natural gas (historical) and biogas, Finsterwald drilling platform
- Earth & Moor: Peat energy (historical), Mettilimoos platform
- Air & Wind: Wind energy, Feldmoos platform
- Light & Sun: Solar energy, Marktplatz platform
The six platforms highlight some pioneering achievements from Entlebuch: Swiss natural gas was first extracted in Finsterwald, the rotor blades of the first large wind turbine in the canton of Lucerne spin above Feldmoos, electricity has been generated from hydropower at the historic Farb power station since 1905/06, Lucerne's first wood chip furnace with a heating network is located in Finsterwald and peat was once mined in Switzerland's largest moorland. The six energy platforms can be visited independently of each other and without prior booking.
Ella, the adventure guide for children
Nowhere else in the canton of Lucerne are there as many wood ants as in the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. As a representative of her species, Ella imparts knowledge about sustainable energy and the special abilities of wood ants. The clever bundle of energy also encourages young explorers to experience energy interactively through exciting experiments:
- River & water: energy playground, color/entlen platform
- Forest & wood: Ella's (Entle)BUCH, Chilewald platform
- Fire & gas: The sound of the sea, Finsterwald drilling platform
- Earth & Moor: Moor memory, Mettilimoos platform
- Air & wind: whistle seesaw, Feldmoos platform
- Light & Sun: Solar panel, Marketplace platform
