Shortly after Hildisrieden, where the path leads to Golf Sempachersee, you can temporarily leave the route and visit the Pilgrimage Chapel Gormund. The chapel, dedicated to Mary of Sorrows, was consecrated in 1509 and is now popular for baptisms and weddings. Back on the route, you will overcome about 300 meters of elevation and reach the Vogelmoos Nature Reserve. From various viewing platforms, you can observe waterfowl and enjoy the tranquility of the nature reserve. At the Waldhus viewpoint, there is a splendid view of Lake Baldegg. A little further along the main road, you will reach the inn Zum Herlisberg with its lovely chapel. Back on the route, it continues leisurely to Richensee. Shortly before Richensee, you reach the area of Lake Baldegg. The idyllic lake has been owned by Pro Natura and protected since 1940. The first settlers settled around 8,000 BC at Lake Baldegg. Later, around 1237, the megalithic tower in Richensee was built by the Counts of Kyburg. The small town was founded. Richensee used to have a town wall as well as city and market rights. Only the tower remains, which was restored by the canton in the 1920s and renovated and stabilized in 2013.
