From Emmetten, take the aerial cableway to Niederbauen. At the mountain station, right next door in the Niederbauen mountain inn, there is a café with a fantastic view of Lake Lucerne and the Alps. The trail leads via Ebnet towards Urwängi and then follows a descent on the right down to Stäckenmatt Boden.
The route from the Niederbauen mountain station to Hunds-Chopf is groomed as a winter hiking trail.

Snowshoes can be rented at the valley station of the Emmetten-Niederbauen aerial cableway and at the valley station of the Emmetten-Stockhütte gondola lift.
Good equipment and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.

Take motorway A2 Lucerne-Gotthard, exit Seelisberg/Emmetten/Beckenried, and drive towards Emmetten.
Paid parking spaces are available in Emmetten at the valley station of the Emmetten-Stockhütte gondola lift. From there, the valley station of the Emmetten-Niederbauen aerial cableway is 300 meters (approx. 5 minutes) away.
The Emmetten, Post station from Stans is easily accessible by postal bus. The Emmetten-Niederbauen aerial cableway is 300 meters (approx. 5 minutes) from the bus stop.
