The Obersee adventure route is currently the largest and connecting tourism project on the upper Lake Zurich and connects the cantons of Schwyz, St. Gallen, and eight municipalities around and across the lake. The path mostly follows the Obersee along existing hiking and cycling routes, through forests and nature reserves. Along the way you will meet various characters or members of the Obersee secret society. They all tell you exciting, mysterious, surprising, sad, and also funny stories. At the corresponding experience points, you can learn more about them.
All members of the secret society guard a treasure that is in danger of sinking to the depths of the Obersee. They send you with the explorer backpack on a secret mission. If you manage to solve their tasks, you will be admitted to the Obersee secret society and become the guardian of the Obersee treasure.

Directions
From Lachen station, walk via Mittlere Bahnhofstrasse, Herrengasse, past the Holy Cross parish church to the Old School Plaza towards Seeplatz and the harbor.
There you will discover the composer Joachim Raff and the Raff Archive. A little further on at the Marina Lachen you can refresh yourself for the first time and purchase the explorer backpack.
Then follow the lake all the way past Badi Lachen and playgrounds towards Lachner Aahorn. There, on the wooden jetty, the dabchick awaits you. Also visit the observation tower and enjoy the view over the wonderful Lachner Aahorn nature reserve.
Continue past Wangen airfield through Nuolen and towards the Zurichsee Golf Park. At the parking lot, walk past the Irsslinger winery up the gravel path until you meet Lotti Laus.
Then keep right and follow Bachtellenstrasse to the Golf Park clubhouse.
Tips:
- If you feel like a round of golf, you are in the right place.
- Or want a culinary refreshment? Then head to the golf restaurant.
- The Golf Park grounds feature a beautiful circular route with various themed panels, e.g. about amphibians. You can easily spend some time around the golf park.
From the golf park, continue via Büelgasse to Kirchenrainstrasse, under the motorway, past the church towards the main road and the "Zentrum" bus stop. From there you can get either to Lachen station or to Siebnen-Wangen station.
Congratulations! You have completed a stage.

- You are mostly on hiking trail 84 from SchweizMobil.
- Please be considerate of both hikers and cyclists on the trails.
- You can of course start the route in Wangen as well and hike to Lachen.

Safety guidelines
Due to the severe storm on July 26, 2021, the jetty at Lachner Aahorn, where the character head of the dabchick is located, is currently not accessible. The jetty was severely damaged and the restoration will unfortunately take some time. The tower located in the same area is accessible. There are also listening horns there. Only the character head with text and image cannot currently be visited on the jetty.
