When you leave the floor of the Surental after Sempach and Neuenkirch and slowly climb up the heights of the Ruswilerberg, you will understand why this route is called Panorama Route. From up here, a view unfolds that is second to none. Beyond Littau and Malters, the elongated flank of Schwandenegg, Blatter- and Sonnenberg stretches out, standing like a guardian in front of the Pilatus massif, which rises powerfully behind. The Pilatus lines up like in a beauty contest among the chain of Alpine peaks that border the horizon from left to right.
The path leads along beautiful country roads and old farmhouses down into the Rottal to Buttisholz and Grosswangen. Over the Leidenberg, you reach back into the Surental and to the shore of Lake Sempach. Enjoy the view of the lake from the idyllic lakeside path, the heart of our region.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
- Besides the fantastic view, it is worth stopping at the Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil or the farmhouse Mittler in Huprächtigen, built in 1734.
