This effortless but scenic path follows the old route of the former Rigi-Scheidegg railway on an initially completely flat stretch to Rigi First. From the southern shore of the lake, the Alpine summits greet you with eternal snow. From Rigi First, a descent leads to the cozy alp farm Heiri-Hütte, which invites you to a hearty alpine snack. Afterwards, the promenade continues in elegant curves downhill to the historic pilgrimage site Klösterli, where numerous Capuchin monks once lived. The charming pilgrimage chapel "Maria zum Schnee" (built 1689) is one of the most beautiful mountain chapels worldwide. The altarpiece is a copy of the famous "Maria zum Schnee" image of the ornate Santa Maria Maggiore church in Rome.
