The Sachsler Höhenweg is a very scenic hike and perfect when there is still snow at higher altitudes. It leads from Flüeli-Ranft via the geographical center of Obwalden to Giswil.

The starting point of this hike is in Flüeli-Ranft at the Flüeliplatz bus stop. The trail first leads out of the pilgrims' village. A wonderful panoramic view over Lake Sarnen soon opens up. At the Churigen farm, the route turns off onto the hiking trail. After a short time, you reach Glotersegg, the geographical center of Obwalden. Here it is worth taking a short detour up to the Glotersegg fireplace. The hiking trail continues over several ravines, meadows and forest sections. The views over the Sarneraa valley from the high trail are magnificent everywhere. A special highlight soon awaits with the suspension bridge over the Sigetsbach stream. After this little adrenaline rush, the trail leads out to the forest, over Obstocken and then down through the forest to the Hotel & Restaurant Zollhaus.

For the return journey, Giswil railroad station or Ewil Maxon station in the other direction can be reached on foot within 30 minutes. The return journey is much more comfortable on the "Seestern" boat, which departs directly from the Zollhaus jetty.
