The sporty snowshoe trail from Maria-Rickenbach offers impressive views of the Engelberg valley and runs mostly through forests and meadows. It starts at the mountain station, runs along the monastery walls and steadily ascends, passing Steinrüti and a log cabin. The path continues over the Buoholzbach and ends after a steep section back in the village of Maria-Rickenbach.

A2 from Lucerne towards Gotthard to the Stans-Süd exit. 3.5 kilometers towards Engelberg, after Dallenwil turn left at the signpost, to the valley station of the Dallenwil-Niederrickenbach cable car.
Adequate parking spaces available.
Zentralbahn from Lucerne towards Engelberg to Niederrickenbach Station stop (stop on request). 2 minutes on foot to the valley station of the Dallenwil-Niederrickenbach cable car.
