- Start: Brunnen
- Destination: Rigi-Scheidegg
At the beginning of the approximately 2 ½-hour hike, you stroll leisurely along the lake promenade in Brunnen before heading uphill. You should not underestimate the somewhat steep ascent towards Urmiberg. Once at the top, a magnificent view of the Schwyzer valley basin and Lake Uri opens up to you.
Then it continues steadily uphill. You should definitely plan the small detour to Gottertli. From Gottertli, the small and big Mythen as well as Lake Zug and Lake Lauerz can be seen spectacularly. Once you have reached the Gätterlipass, continue uphill towards Rigi Burggeist. About 30 minutes later you reach the destination. A fantastic 360° panoramic view at the Rigi Scheidegg Arche as well as food and drink in the mountain inns compensate for the hiking strains. The Kräbel cable car will conveniently take you via the Rigi railways to Goldau, where you will find SBB connections in all directions.
Notes
You can find the current operating status of the railways and hiking trails here.
So that future generations can also enjoy the Queen of the Mountains, please dispose of your waste at the stations of the Rigi railways. Thank you.
