Many paths run through the forest between the cantons of Nidwalden and Uri.

This hike leads through the Brennwald, a shady route on hot summer days... and yet with a surprising view!

From the Emmetten-Sagendorf stop and the Heiligkreuz Chapel, you'll head up to the forest, followed by a nice resting spot. In the middle of the Brennwald, the path turns left via Farenblätz to the interesting hollow path before Litenfad. From Höch Flue you have an unexpected view of Seelisberg, Lake Lucerne and the two Mythen. Well developed is the path down to the romantic pilgrimage chapel Maria Sonnenberg from the 17th century in Seelisberg. To finish, a visit to the Aschwanden mountain cheese dairy in Seelisberg is worthwhile.
