Willisau - Wellenberg - Ettiswil
From Willisau railroad station, we follow the "Grosswangen" signpost and walk uphill along the forest nature trail at the Ostergauer traffic circle until we emerge from the forest. There we leave the forest nature trail and take the left-hand path to the Ankeloch farm. The route is varied until you reach the wonderful Wellbrig Kreuz viewpoint at 699m above sea level, where the round bench invites you to take a break. The route continues steadily downhill along the forest ridge towards Ettiswil. The pretty farm store 1616 invites you to stop and browse.
From Brestenegg, you have the option of taking the direct route to Ettiswil (approx. 10 minutes) or the more beautiful and longer option, via Wyher moated castle and the nature education area, along the Rot stream to your destination.

The nature education area is worth a detour
Dogs are not allowed from the Wellenberg property onwards! Dog owners must follow the road to the left in the direction of Wellbrig Kreuz.
