Atelier Hess at over 1,800 meters combines alpine tradition with creative innovation. Dishes with international accents are created in the Engelberg mountains.
Inspired by Engelberg pioneer Eugen Hess-Waser, Atelier Hess stands for a spirit of discovery and a contemporary alpine lifestyle. Alpine classics are combined with international influences and complemented by Nordic accents from head chef Nicholas Lundgren. The cuisine impresses with freshness, creativity and character; each dish is characterized by nature, craftsmanship and passion.

The light-flooded restaurant combines modern alpine design with the open charm of a studio and blends harmoniously into the mountain scenery. Located directly on the ski slopes in winter and surrounded by hiking trails in summer, your stay will be a special experience.

Sustainability is a central component of the concept: whenever possible, ingredients are sourced from Nidwalden and Central Switzerland and are complemented by selected specialties from all over the world. The close cooperation with regional producers stands for quality, transparency and short transportation routes. As a partner of Water for Water (WfW), there is also a commitment to the responsible use of drinking water. A rooftop area with panoramic views over Central Switzerland combines alpine scenery with urban flair.
