On the sunny slope of the Mariazell terminal moraine, where the Reuss Glacier came to a halt thousands of years ago, the grapes from our winery are ripening today.

This results in flavorful, locally produced wines that regularly win awards.

The Weinbau Mariazell vineyard covers 90 ares and is home to six different grape varieties: two red and four white. Weinbau Mariazell couldn’t be more beautifully situated: on the sunny side, at the foot of the white chapel, and with a view across Lake Sempach toward the Swiss Alps.

Diversity plays a major role here: the botanical diversity at Triechter has increased significantly thanks to the vineyard. It enriches the Triechter’s landscape as a local recreational area for the Sursee region and, as a habitat for animals, connects with the adjacent nature reserve and the standard-tree fruit orchards found there. In addition to wine, grape liqueur, grappa, and wild fruit distillates are also produced here.
