Alpine hike from Klewenalp to Isenthal

Hike
The Alpine hike is an alpine hiking experience combined as a round trip by bus, train, and boat. This allows the heart of the Via Urschweiz to be experienced in just one day. The Via Urschweiz is a five-day panoramic cultural route along historically valuable landscapes and transport routes between Uri and Nidwalden.

By aerial cable car, it goes from Beckenried to Klewenalp at 1600 m above sea level. From here starts the 3-hour hike over Hinter Jochli to the rustic high plateau of Gitschenen. The aerial cable car descends from Gitschenen to St. Jakob (Isenthal) and the bus runs on the panoramic route to Isleten. The journey offers breathtaking views of the mountain scenery, the Urner Reuss Valley, and the Schwyz basin. A highlight of the round trip is the boat trip from Isleten back to the starting point. The round trip can also start in Altdorf, Brunnen, Treib, Gersau, Isenthal, or Gitschenen.
