Hike

The Alpine hike is an alpine hiking experience combined as a round trip by bus, train, and ship. This way, the heart of the Via Urschweiz can be experienced in just one day. The Via Urschweiz is a five-day panoramic cultural trail along historically valuable landscapes and transport routes between Uri and Nidwalden.

By aerial cableway, you go from Beckenried to the Klewenalp at 1600 m above sea level. From here, the 3-hour hike begins over Hinter Jochli to the rustic high plateau Gitschenen. The aerial cableway runs from Gitschenen down to St. Jakob (Isenthal) and by bus you travel the panoramic route to Isleten. The journey offers breathtaking views of the mountain backdrop, the Urner Reuss Valley, and the Schwyz basin. A highlight of the round trip is the boat ride from Isleten back to the starting point. The round trip can also be started in Altdorf, Brunnen, Treib, Gersau, Isenthal, or Gitschenen.
