The hike leads from Andermatt through the Schöllenen Gorge to Göschenen. Historic paths, bridges and a customs station bring pre-modern traffic to life.

From Andermatt railroad station, the hiking trail leads to the legendary Devil's Bridge. The impressive gorge is well worth a stop. For those interested, there is a 20 to 30-minute tour to view the gorge from all angles and learn something about the historical and legendary background. You will also pass the historic Suvorov monument. The route then continues along the newly developed hiking trail to Göschenen through the Schöllenen Gorge. The former mule tracks were one of the most important connections to the south. On the way to Göschenen, you can marvel at the imposing high rock faces of the Schöllenen Gorge with the rushing Reuss. The hike continues over avalanche galleries to the stone-built Häderlis Bridge and on to Göschenen railroad station. There is a cozy rest area with barbecue facilities halfway along the route.
