The hike leads from Andermatt through the Schöllenen Gorge to Göschenen. Historic trail routes, bridges, and a customs station make pre-modern traffic tangible.

From Andermatt train station, the hiking trail leads to the legendary Devil’s Bridge. The impressive gorge is worth a stop. For those interested, there is a 20- to 30-minute circular walk to view the gorge from all angles and learn about the historical and legendary backgrounds. On this walk, you also pass the historic Suworow Monument. The newly developed hiking trail then continues through the Schöllenen Gorge to Göschenen. The former mule tracks were the most important connection to the south. On the way to Göschenen, you can admire the imposing high rock walls of the Schöllenen Gorge with the foaming Reuss. The hike continues past avalanche galleries to the stone-built Häderli Bridge, then on to Göschenen train station. Halfway there is a cozy resting place with a barbecue area.
