In the past, the Rigi round was a well-known road cycling race, later becoming part of a regional triathlon. Nowadays, things are more relaxed around the Rigi, but it still remains a popular destination for all cycling enthusiasts. Rightly so, as the round offers everything the heart desires – scenic, athletic, and culinary.

On the "Queen of the Mountains," as the Rigi is sometimes respectfully called, there is lively activity in favorable weather. This summit remains reserved for bikers on two wheels. Among road cyclists, the Rigi round enjoys an excellent reputation. This may also be due to the fact that a popular bike race used to take place on this route. Those who want to circle the Rigi on narrow tires must share the road with various motorsport enthusiasts. If you are not deterred by this, you will be rewarded with a scenic ride along Lake Lauerz, Lake Zug, and Lake Lucerne. The Riviera climate, which also allows subtropical plants to thrive on the southern side of the Rigi, promises pleasant temperatures even outside of the season.
