A shorter hike from Brändlen to Haldigrat. Thanks to the small cable cars from Wolfenschiessen to Brändlen and from Haldigrat with the chairlift to Alpboden near Niederrickenbach, this is a very enjoyable pre-Alpine route.

From Wolfenschiessen we take the small aerial cableway to the Berghof Brändlen of the Schmitter family. After a two-hour ascent, an impressive mountain panorama awaits at Gigichrüz, from Säntis to the Mythen and Pilatus. The view also extends over the Central Plateau to the Jura. On the Haldigrat – formerly a winter sports area with a ski lift – we settle down on the terrace and order a light lunch. The "descent" with Kurt's chairlift is extremely comfortable and gentle on the joints. From Alpboden to the mountain station of the Niederrickenbach aerial cableway it is about 30 minutes walking time. The stated walking times and altitude differences take into account the use of the cable cars.
