First, we follow the wild Muota stream – a natural spectacle in itself. However, within the village it flows very straight due to human intervention. From this side of the river, you can admire the ensemble of the historic village center around the church particularly beautifully. The Minoritinnen Monastery also presents itself gracefully. The small sister community also accepts prayer requests online.
Now follows the ascent, where it is worth looking back or sitting on a bench to look down at the village from above. Soon we see the Hof Enzenen above us. Between us and the farm lie 74 high-stemmed trees, whose apples and pears are processed into sweet cider in autumn.
During the gentle descent, there is time to repeatedly admire the mountain range on the other side of the valley. Its slopes receive no sunlight on winter days; therefore, locals call it the "shade half".
Passing by the parish church, which is dedicated to Saints Sigismund and Walburga, we return to the starting point. Completed in 1793, it is one of the last Baroque churches built in Central Switzerland.
