Brennwald – something hot is to be expected here. So bring enough water, because there is actually none available on the tour through the forest. What there is: panoramic views and fantastic rock formations, which have even been used as a film set.

The start towards Seelisberg is calm and enjoyable. It passes by the Kreuzkapelle with the Totentanztafel, a real rarity and beauty. Upon reaching Brennwald, the path switches to forest roads. Drinks and provisions must be brought along. There are numerous fire pits, but no inns are passed.

After a short ascent, you reach the "Schützen-12er" hut, a resting spot with shelter and fire pit. Past the Oberschwand farm awaits – after a varied ride – a beautiful view of the Seelisberg lake and the Uri mountains at the Scheidegg crossroads. Swimwear wouldn’t be a bad idea now. For a cooling off, however, the tour needs to be slightly modified.

On the way back to Emmetten, we learn something special: the film "Die Hohle Gasse" was shot in the 1950s exactly where the bikers now ride through. Beautiful rock formations await in a gentle forest setting. The return ride is then just a formality or a leisurely roll towards the finish.
