We start the route at Willisau station, pass under the tracks via the pedestrian underpass, and follow the Via Jacobi 4 (Jakobsweg) signposts towards Geiss. Soon the industrial area is behind us. At the Ostergau point 554m, we continue to follow the Jakobsweg and leave the ponds on our left for the first time. We walk on pleasant paths through the green landscape, always with Pilatus in sight.
After Studeweid, the path unfortunately follows a short stretch of road, so be careful! Shortly before Geiss at Elswil, we leave the Jakobsweg and the road to walk on beautiful paths towards Wüschiswil and then towards Ostergau. Passing the picturesque Ostergau ponds, we reach the Jakobsweg again and march back the same way towards Willisau station.

At Willisau station cross the underpass heading east (not towards the bus stop). Then follow the signposts Via Jacobi 4 towards Geiss. Before the village of Geiss, turn off towards Wüschiswil, then Ostergau and Willisau

Car drivers or cyclists can also park at the Ostergau ponds and start the circular route from there.
Those who do not want to walk back the same way and have enough time can return via "Chlämphöchi", see the hiking suggestion Willisau-Ostergau.
