Circular Route Dreiwässern

The moraine waves deposited by the Linth-Rhine glacier create a hilly and softly shaped landscape and form the special feature of this circular route. This type of moraine material was transported from the Alps by the glacier and is often excavated and processed as a building material due to its gravel-rich composition. To further emphasize the hills' landscape, individual trees are to be planted on the moraine hills as part of a project.

But even today, lime trees and high-stem fruit trees characterize the moraine ridges. In the second section of the circular route, you encounter the habitat of amphibians, often found in small ponds and pools. As soon as temperatures rise above 20° C in early summer, the water frogs begin their loud concerts, which you can listen to during your walk. You can also wonderfully observe the animals when they sunbathe on the water's edge during the day and jump far into the water when threatened.
