Circular walk Weggis - Hertenstein

From the Weggis boat dock, we walk along the lake toward Hertenstein, pass the All Saints’ Chapel in Unterdorf, and at the fork, we turn right onto Kreuzstrasse and then immediately left onto Friedheimweg. We follow this path, past the Hotel Friedheim, to the intersection at the Hügeri farm. Now we turn left onto the paved road leading up to the Brünnihof. From this stately home, you can enjoy a wonderful view. We cross the meadow and arrive at the Eggisbühl farm and the Hotel & Gastro Formation. The trail leads past the barn and climbs gently toward Herrenwald. As soon as we reach the barbecue area at the edge of the forest, we turn left into the woods and follow the trail as it curves sharply to the right. The forest path runs almost flat, slightly above the lakeshore, to the junction with the Helsana Trail. We follow the signpost, turn right uphill, and leave the forest after a few meters. After a short climb, we reach the Gerbiweid campground, passing the greenhouses and the soccer field. At Thermoplan AG, we take the first right turn and pass the Hügeri farm again. This time, at the intersection, we take the dirt road straight ahead, walk through the residential neighborhood, and follow Höchistrasse until we reach a small path on the right that leads along a little stream down to the lake. Here we turn left and walk along the shore back to the Weggis boat dock.

The frescoes in the All Saints' Chapel in the Unterdorf are well worth a visit.
