From Alpboden (Niederrickenbach) you get carried up the first 700 meters. On the Haldigrat you meet Kurt who has been running "his chairlift" and the mountain inn here for almost 20 years. Then it goes all along the ridge, partly a bit slippery at the top, to the 2,403 meter high Brisen. The panoramic view is amazing!
Be careful when descending on the south side and via Schuenegg. In the afternoon you reach the Brisenhaus of the SAC, where a simple mattress dormitory is prepared for overnight stays. The food is excellent and the nut crescents are the best in Central Switzerland!
The next day you pass the Klewenalp and follow the wildlife observation trail. In and under the rocks between Oberbauenstock and Zingel, ibexes and chamois are often spotted. Afterwards you take the path above via Fulberg and reach the Oberbauen mountain path leading down to the Niederbauen mountain inn and the Niederbauen cable car mountain station.Â

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
Worthwhile additional ascents for the sporty on this two-day route are the Oberbauenstock (2117m) and the Niederbauen (1923m).
From the Niederbauenalp it is not far to the Hundschopf, an unexpected and impressive viewpoint above Lake Uri.
