Easy mountain hike from Krienseregg via Roteflue and Trümmelegg to Fräkmüntegg with views of Stanserhorn, Titlis and the Pre Alps, ideal in summer.

From the middle station of the Kriens panoramic gondola lift on Krienseregg, the hike climbs gently towards the south-east. After about 2.5 kilometres, you reach the cantonal border between Lucerne and Nidwalden. There, the trail turns west and climbs a little more steeply. After another 2.5 kilometres or so along the cantonal border, you reach the Fräkmüntegg mountain station, the end point of the tour.

Directions & Parking facilities

Take the A2 motorway to the Lucerne-Kriens exit, then follow Route 2a to Apotheke Spani, turn left there and continue to the valley station of the Kriens Panorama Gondola Lift.

Take the SBB to Kriens, Mattenhof station and then the bus to the Pilatus railways.
