A wonderful high-altitude hike that can be completed in just over 2 hours. You have a magnificent view of the transport routes leading from north to south: motorway and Gotthard mountain railway.

A half-day route that can easily be extended to Golzern if you haven't had enough in the Chilcherberge yet. Many mighty limestone towers proudly stand above us. They make the hike a wild romantic experience.

Directions & Parking facilities

You can reach Erstfeld by car via the A2 motorway. Erstfeld has its own exit.

You will find paid parking spaces in the middle of Erstfeld within a 5-minute walk. Some parking spaces are also available at the valley station of the Schwändibahn.

You can take the train to Erstfeld or catch the bus from Flüelen/Altdorf and get off at Erstfeld.

In Silenen, you can always catch a bus that will take you back to Erstfeld, Altdorf, or Flüelen.
