The Karin-Thürig Circuit is a route of about 10 km from Retschwil with a view of Lake Baldegg on the slope of Erlosen to Nunwil and back to Retschwil. The road is paved, thus ideal for road bikes or inline skates, but also a true pleasure with a bike, horse-drawn carriage or on foot.
From Retschwil, the route follows the bike path along the lake towards Ermensee or Hitzkirch up to the Stäfligen junction. There you turn left uphill. From there, a small climb follows on side roads. You can conquer the elevation calmly here. At the Vorderzelg junction, enjoy the wonderful views of Lake Baldegg, Heidegg Castle, and Lindenberg on the opposite side as well as the fantastic foothills.
The route now takes you from Vorderzelg, the highest point at 653 m above sea level, over the Alp and the Eigen. From Sidenthal, the descent leads over the Sidenberg to Nunwil. In Nunwil you turn back onto the road and head back to Retschwil to the starting point.
Before or during the bike tour you can refresh yourself in the restaurants or take a dip in Lake Baldegg to cool off. The lake bath in Baldegg is ideal for that. There are also opportunities to have a picnic by Lake Baldegg.
