You start on Veloland route No. 56 towards Lenzburg. From Aesch to Seengen you cycle along the shore of Lake Hallwil. After 14 km you reach the romantic Hallwyl Water Castle. Built in the 12th century, the castle is one of the most important water castles in Switzerland and now houses a museum.
The route continues through the shady forest and along the Aabach to Lenzburg. The town of Lenzburg was founded in the 13th century by the Counts of Kyburg. It received city rights as early as 1306, which can still be seen on the city walls protected as a historical monument today. Not only the old town is worth a visit. Lenzburg Castle, another highlight of this route, awaits you. The thousand-year-old, impressive castle and symbol of the town of Lenzburg houses the historical museum as well as rooms and a courtyard for cultural and social events of all kinds.
On Veloland route No. 34 you reach Suhr and then turn into the Wynetal. In Teufenthal, the Trostburg proudly stands on a 40 m high rocky outcrop. The complex was probably built in the 12th century by the lords of Trostberg. Today it is privately owned and can only be admired from the outside. Over extensive fields and meadows with a view of the Alps, you head towards the historic town of Beromünster. The Fläcke and the collegiate St. Michael have been the town's pride for 10 centuries. The fast descent with views of Lake Baldegg and the Alps leads you to the valley floor, past the Lake Baldegg nature reserve to Richensee. Shortly before reaching Hitzkirch station, you see the megalith tower from the 13th century.
