Snowshoe

Wonderful hike in a magnificent winter atmosphere on the Stoos. The Waldhüttli and Mauri's Hut, which is located at the highest point of the route, invite you to relax comfortably.

The snowshoe trail starts directly at the mountain station of the Schwyz-Stoos funicular. It first follows the same route as the Rieter trail, through the hilly landscape near the village of Stoos and yet secluded and quiet to a junction near the Brunnerboden. From there, the snowshoe trail follows the winter hiking trail Chruteren-Bawangli, until it then turns off to the right.

Through this idyllic area, you walk to the junction where you can either follow the "short" trail and walk via the Waldhüttli towards the village, or take the extension to Mauri's Hut and return the same way to the Waldhüttli.

Following the marking posts, you reach a steep section at the edge and descend to the valley station of the Klingenstock chairlift and the Brunnerboden restaurant. Then continue back to the village of Stoos, where there are various catering options.
