Rigi Scheidegg - Dossen - Unterstetten - Rigi Kaltbad - Känzeli - Seebodenalp

This leisurely hike takes you along parts of the Panorama Trail, over the Dossen to Rigi Kaltbad and onwards to Seebodenalp. The magnificent panorama of Lake Lucerne and the Bernese Alps is your constant companion.

From Rigi Scheidegg, you walk leisurely along the Panorama Trail up to Hinter Dossen, where the path branches off and leads to Rigi Dossen. From the summit, it goes down to Unterstetten. You walk around the Würenstock, with views towards the Rigi Kulm summit and over the Mythen. Behind the Würenstock you have the choice: Either follow the impressive rock path to Rigi Kaltbad-First or stay on the equally beautiful Panorama Trail, which is laid out on the route of the former Rigi Scheidegg-Kaltbad railway.

At the Känzeli viewpoint, it is worth pausing to enjoy the magnificent panorama before starting the descent to Seebodenalp. This hike can also be done in the reverse direction, but it is then significantly more strenuous.

More information about arrival and parking

At the Rigi Railway stations in Goldau, paid parking is available.

However, we recommend public transport instead of the car: Sit back, enjoy, and do something good for the environment at the same time.

Rigi Scheidegg, the starting point of the hike, is accessible via Goldau with the cog railway and the Kräbel-Rigi Scheidegg aerial cableway.

The hiking ticket for this hike includes the following train rides:

  • from Goldau to Rigi Scheidegg with the cog railway and aerial cableway
  • from Seebodenalp to Küssnacht am Rigi with the aerial cableway

You can find the timetables of the Rigi Railways here.

I like to visit the Hotel Rigi Kaltbad during a stopover to refuel with delicious dishes before the descent to Seebodenalp.
