Following the traces of the old Swiss Confederacy, this route leads through all four main towns of the original cantons.

The first highlight is in Stans with the world's first Cabrio cable car to the Stanserhorn, where you can enjoy a phenomenal view of Lake Lucerne. You later cross this lake by car ferry and drive along the shore to Altdorf, the home of Wilhelm Tell.
After visiting the Tell Museum in Bürglen, the journey continues over the Klausen Pass and through the entire Glarus region to the monastery village of Einsiedeln. In Schwyz, you can refresh your knowledge of the founding period of the Confederacy in the Federal Charter Museum before continuing with plenty of lake views to Lucerne and Sarnen, where a historical village walk provides a dignified conclusion to the route.
