Trail report Bergfex

Escholzmatt-Marbach has been known as a cross-country skiing arena for decades. With the medal win of Marbach native Sepp Haas at the Olympic Games in Grenoble 1968, a real cross-country skiing boom was triggered and the beautiful Escholzmatt-Marbach cross-country skiing area became known throughout Switzerland within days.

Discover the total of 50 kilometers of trails in classic and skating style on the Marbach-Escholzmatt-Bumbach trail network, and enjoy the incomparable view. The trail entry points are located at the village of Marbach or in the Ey area. Then starts the steep ascent to Schärlig. Once at the top, the trail runs on a plateau with a few small climbs and descents up to the Färberhus. The trail loops back to Marbach. On the way back you enjoy a challenging descent. Afterwards, you have several options: The village circular trail Marbach (also illuminated daily from 6 pm to 9 pm) or towards Bumbach and all the way to Kemmeriboden.
