A short circular hike that offers everything: protected areas in a fen, tall herbaceous plants in a hunting reserve, high alpine floodplain landscapes, and lush alpine meadows. The highlight is the great picnic area at Rohr. It is well-equipped, easily accessible, and incredibly cozy. In the Unteralp valley, we are accompanied by marmots and can admire the unique flora with many orchids.

We start at the Andermatt tourist office, where the Mur circular route is already indicated on a white signpost. After crossing the village of Andermatt, we ascend to the Maria-Hilf chapel. Soon we come to the Gurschenbach. We can only cross it from mid-June, when the metal bridge is installed and most of the old snowfield has melted. On the left side of the valley, we first cross a nature reserve, then a hunting ban area, and experience alpine meadows with a typical blossom spectacle. Besides many orchid species, we are naturally also delighted by alpine roses and whistling marmots. We pass through dairy cow and cattle pastures. On the other side of the valley, we can observe herds of goats and sheep. Shortly before Rohr, the path splits. We turn left down to the picnic area. A great fire pit with benches and a swing invites us to picnic at Rohr. The children can romp about wonderfully. On a flat path, it goes into the Unteralp valley. At the Mur, we reach the typical high alpine floodplain landscape. Here we cross the Unteralpreuss and return to Andermatt on the service road.
