Bike route 402: Urner valley floor bike

From Altdorf station, either follow Rinächtstrasse to the Reuss bridge in Attinghausen or take Attinghauserstrasse (it is less busy and more varied). Here you switch to the Reusswuhrweg and ride along the Reuss to the Reuss bridge in Erstfeld - a first gem along the way is the place of reflection at the Gotthard rest stop. After crossing the Reuss bridge, follow the side road past idyllic farms and cozy spots along the Reuss, via Wiler and Butzen to Amsteg. There you will be greeted by the imposing railway bridge over the Chärstelenbach and the NEAT construction site. The return journey takes you on the Wuhrweg on the eastern Reuss side via Silenen and Ellbogen northwards. In Erstfeld begins the northern ramp of the Gotthard mountain line. Here you have the opportunity to observe a variety of train compositions - a short detour to the panorama tower and the crocodile locomotive is worthwhile! Back on the Wuhrweg, you reach the picturesque Jagdmatt chapel - a popular photo motif with the Bristen in the background. From the Reuss bridge in Erstfeld, you roll back along the familiar path to the starting point at Altdorf station.
