Circular route «Chiemen Peninsula»
The area is part of the Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments of National Importance. The landscape formation, known as a layer rib landscape, is geologically unique in Switzerland. The characteristic moraine ridges that extend further into the lake along the shore can be experienced all around the peninsula.
Along the root path around the nose
The center of Immensee is suitable as a starting point for the circular route. The hiking trail passes through the settlement area. The Wiler Baumgarten is reached relatively quickly. From Baumgarten, a somewhat more demanding, hilly root path leads around the nose of the Chiemen. The shore path is lined with picturesque bays with small pebble beaches.
Through the agricultural land back to the center
From Itelfingen, the hiking trail leads back to Immensee. The landscape is characterized by farms, orchards, and high-stem fruit gardens. On the paved roads, it is possible to progress significantly faster here.
