European ladder - to the center of Switzerland

From the Melchsee-Frutt mountain station, the trail leads past the idyllic Blausee lake, which is a real insider tip, especially for fly fishermen. After a short hike, the first ascents begin with views of the Abgschütz. At "Tschugglen", the path turns right and leads up to the entry point of the European ladder on blue and white marked terrain. It is divided into two passages of 30 meters each. A climbing harness and safety equipment are essential for the descent - a head for heights and surefootedness are required. We recommend that you are accompanied by an experienced mountain guide.

After the impressive descent, the rewarding view of Seefeldsee awaits. Past the lakeshore, the route now follows easy paths to Älggialp. A detour to the geographical center of Switzerland is recommended. The stone border forms the outline of Switzerland and the Swiss people of the year are immortalized on the memorial stone by the pyramid.
