Varied landscapes, Obwalden houses, and breathtaking panoramic views over the Sarneraa Valley characterize the Grossteilerberg bike route. The route combines a relaxed roll in the valley floor with a scenic ascent and a leisurely descent through forests and idyllic stream landscapes – perfect for MTB, E-MTB or gravel bike.

The route starts directly at Giswil train station, at the tourist office. After just a few minutes, you enter the open landscape with scattered farmhouses, typical for Obwalden. The ascent leads you over Stein-Schlad Street up to Grossteilerberg, where wide panoramic views into the Sarneraa Valley reward you.

From the highest point at Gruonholz, you roll downwards on wide gravel paths through a quiet forest section. These protective forests were once created against the floods of the wild Laui stream. Today, the streambed and rest areas by the water invite you to swim, barbecue, or take a short break.

As soon as the forest thins out, the view opens up to the Laui Valley, a real highlight. From here, you calmly follow the stream back to the starting point in Giswil. The route is continuously marked with route number 294 Grossteilerberg Bike.
