The start of the easy mountain bike route, in a beautiful enclosed valley with a unique lake landscape, leads through Sachseln along the right lake shore from above. After Sachseln, you reach the main town of Obwalden, Sarnen. Here stands the Hexenturm with the unique White Book of Sarnen. The story of Tell is told in it. Above Sarnen towers Landenberg Castle, from where the lords were driven out.
Then the quiet road leads to Wilen, a dreamy hamlet. The 120 meters of altitude lead over Oberwilen and soon you reach the beautiful shady forest with rustic wild streams. As beautiful as the streams are with little water, they become wilder in thunderstorms.
After the forest, you ride through the lovely outdoor pool at Camping Giswil. This place invites young and old to refresh themselves and linger.
