High-altitude circular route

The route starts at the Volg village shop and the path leads past the Emmetten, Post post bus stop, towards Egg (Niederbauen valley station). On Kohltalstrasse, you walk to the first curve, where you turn right onto the gravel road and continue along the hiking trail over the protective dam. At the "Schmusibänkli", directly under the Emmetten - Stockhütte gondola, you can take a short break and enjoy the view over Emmetten and Lake Lucerne. Especially during an evening walk, wonderful sunsets can be admired as the sun sets behind the Pilatus and the Bürgenstock. The path then leads to Ischenstrasse, where you stroll back towards the village to the starting point.

For those interested, just before the turnoff to Ischenstrasse, there is a detour up to the Erlen-Chäppeli. Here you can light a candle for your loved ones and at the same time stay at the barbecue area.

Motorway A2 Luzern-Gotthard, take the Seelisberg/Emmetten/Beckenried exit and drive towards Emmetten

Right next to the Emmetten, Post post bus stop there is a large paid parking lot.
