- Start: Bus stop Muotathal Post
- Destination: Bus stop Muotathal Post
The route is signposted from the bus stop "Muotathal Post". Flats alternate with gentle climbs. Along the way are small wooden houses where farmers used to live, now serving as storage. After a few meters of ascent, you reach the first viewpoint, offering a beautiful view of the village Muotathal. Over a small ravine, the Bürgelibach, and through the forest, you reach the second viewpoint and thus the highest point of the route: from the Bürgeli you can see over the Ried, to Rothenflue, and to the Mythen. About halfway down the gentle descent, a small detour to the Lourdes Grotto is worthwhile; it was built in 1919 in the ruins of a previous landslide. In a rock niche stands a statue of Mary, and the water ripples in a pond at her feet in a monotonous, almost meditative rhythm. Over the valley floor, meadows, and farms, you return to the village without much effort.
