Around the Gersauer Alps
First it is worth staying at Rigi Scheidegg and enjoying the magnificent view. Then you follow good hiking trails downhill – past the mountain restaurant Burggeist on the ridge back, which leads down via Höcheli to the Gätterli Pass. Interesting is the view into the forested northern flank of the Rigi Scheidegg: 60 years ago the entire upper part was treeless, you could even ski there! On the south side, interesting is the view into a wetland where agricultural land and moors alternate.
At the bottom at the Gätterli Pass a cozy inn with mountain hut atmosphere awaits thirsty throats before it goes comfortably down to the valley station of the Burggeist cable car in Obergschwend.

On A4 to Goldau, then up to the Kräbel parking lot (valley station of the Rigi Scheidegg cable car). Or A4 parking lot and then with Rigibahnen to Kräbel.
Via Gersau on a narrow mountain road to Obergschwend (valley station of the Rigi Burggeist cable car).
At the stations of the Rigi Railways in Goldau, Kräbel and Obergschwend there are paid parking spaces available. More info on arrival and parking We recommend public transport instead of car: Lean back, enjoy and also do something good for the environment. Timetable
With SBB to Arth-Goldau; Rigibahnen to Kräbel; cable car to Rigi Scheidegg. By bus or ship to Gersau; periodic bus service to Obergschwend (line 535, pay attention to timetable!)
