Eggen route

The route leads you from Einsiedeln train station to the monastery, along the monastery walls to the cemetery and then to Birchli. At the large intersection you continue towards Ybrig. After a short descent, turn left at the next intersection towards Willerzell and reach the front viaduct. After crossing Lake Sihl, turn right towards Willerzell. About 500 meters after the church, turn left and follow the signposts towards Geissweidli. Then follows a longer climb to Sattelegg. From there you get with many climbs and descents over numerous "Eggen" (Rindereggli, Gueteregg, Müligassegg, Eggli) to Oberegg. On this section you can test your fitness on the one hand and on the other hand enjoy a wonderful view over Lake Sihl, the Mythen and the Lake Zurich basin. From St. Meinrad the route leads you back to Einsiedeln via Tülefsbrugg.
