Small town hopping

Discover the small town gem Willisau

Situated in the rural hinterland of Lucerne, the tiny town of Willisau enchants visitors with its historic district.

Linking the Obertor and Untertor gates and lined with history-steeped buildings and facades, Hauptgasse invites you to take a pleasant stroll. Stop for a break in one of the cafés and sample Willisau Ringli, a special kind of sweet cookie for which the town is widely renowned. During your tour, be sure to locate the Heiligblut pilgrimage chapel (which has an interesting legend) and find out how Kafi Luz, a traditional beverage in the region, is made. The tourist office, located near the entrance to the old town, stocks many more locally produced goods.
